Am I missing something....this link takes me to Do Daddy.... what am I doing wrong ? trying to find the video on re-greaseing your sunroof.

Thanks
Read the whole thread and it will become clear. The DIY was reposted in post #12 as the original site no longer exists. And, it's a PDF, not a video.

Sunroof DIY

I was wandering over at the W212 forum - my family has one - and there was a good video tutorial (credit goes to raywbo for posting it - over here there is a nice thread on Sunroof maintenance but alas, since 2009 the link seems to have disappeared.

So moderators, perhaps you could just substitute the link from raywbo?

My W210, in the family since new - I'll bet has never had this done - I will attend to it in the next couple of days (OTOH the sunroof has been open maybe 10x since 2000? :) )

I had a W124 that got a broken sunroof - when it would tilt there was a piece made out of pot metal that would break over time - and my shop friend said worse case you have to pull out the headliner. (mine - he congratulated me because I didn't try to "fix it" and make it worse).

Anyway George Murphy used to see small 35mm canisters of this MB grease - I read somewhere here that a 1.1 lb can from Mercedes is $95 (and for one car will last 150 years) - but use the correct grease/

After my sunroof failed, I didn't like the idea of using any type of grease on the sunroof. Rather something that would allow low friction, but not collect grit. I had experience with mainsail slides on sailboat masts, so used a product called Sailkote. Available at West Marine stores, Amazon & elsewhere. https://www.westmarine.com/buy/mclube--sailkote-high-performance-dry-lubricant-8-oz--17757741. Sunroof hardly ever used, but still works fine 8 years later. Easy to give tracks a little spray of sailkote and not make a mess!

This is in stickies, I think, but good reference on how to repair and maintain sunroof:

I clicked on the link and it said that I’ve been hacked

Uh...🤔👿
The old links in my post seem to have problems too. I cleaned and repaired my sunroof. DEtails shoulbd hre somewhere. I used Sailkote which is a type of Teflon spray used in the sailing industry. Never had to do it again! sunroof still slides well. No greasy lube like the one MB uses.

I was able to access the UK site that I used when I did my repair. Maybe because I am still registered there (Which anyone can do)
