I dont think there is a way to actually turn it off...but u can cut a small piece of black electrical tape and place it over the sensor on the mirror....make it look neat i guess so no one can tell its there and it should solve that problem...

 

Or why not use the same tint film for the forward sensor, the front to back light difference would return original?
