Hey there,
OKay so of course on one of the hottest days in so cali so far this summer my window gets stuck going up mid way after I get home. It looks like the window came off track cause it can go back down and back up half way fine. Then it starts to slow down to a stop right around that area. I am currently trying to remove the door panel and I was able to remove the clips and the arm rest handle. I am having trouble with the actual inner door handle. I don't want to break it off. Can someone please tell me the right way to remove the inner door handle so I can finish removing the panel? Thank you.

1. Unscrew the door pull.

2. Remove to screws from the lock

3. Use small screwdriver to remove the plastic cover under the door lock handle. There is a screw under that cover.

4. If you have the manual windows cranks, remove the plastic cover from the crank with a small screwdriver and remove the handle.

5. Remove two screws from under the door arm rest.

6. Pull the liner starting on lower corners of the door.

Don't pull real hard because the clips that hold the panel to the door can break easily. If you see a sheet of plastic, that's the moisture barrier. Do not throw it away, simply re-glue it when you put everything back together.

Map Pocket

The map pocket is clipped through the door panel and onto the door itself. The clip is on the upper right most corner of the pocket. You'll need to slide the door panel forward, towards the front of the car, then out, in order to remove the panel without breaking that clip and rendering your map pocket useless.

The vapor barrier is available from the dealer for $5. Or you can re-use, or cut up a glad bag.

hmmm...was going from memory. Not so sure anymore. Still, the point is to be very gentle and not break that door bag clip. Especially if you've got a rare color door bag. Took me a year and a half to find a good Date color map pocket...couldn't imagine trying to source some of those rarer interior color pieces...

The Black plastic insert pry's out (#5 under B. Coupe in the pdf) then take out the screw to remove the chrome trim

MBZ300CD - I wanted to delete that stupid post once I figured it out, but it's not as if my pig-ignorance will come as a shock to anyone who has to suffer through my posts, but thanks, man, pulled a door strap from the boneyard, installed it with the help of my Mercedes-crazed 15yo son, and 30 mins later, that cacophonous THUNK is now history, and I can once again enjoy that one of a kind WHUMPH when I open and close the door. Love this car. Much peace. - c

You can use any Plastic Bag that is big enough to make a new Vapor Barrier.
I did that and simply taped it on as gluing it would be a big pain.

The local Autozone did not have new Plastic Door Panel Fasteners. While Dorman does sell them and I guess I could have found the locally from Dorman. The Dorman ones are likely made in China.
So, I went on eBay and ordered them directly from China. Note, don’t be in a hurry it took about 2 weeks for them to arrive.
If you can find them that cheap the lowest price I could find on the Real Mercedes Door Panel Fasteners was $1.05 each and there would have been shipping added to that.
0039884178 These are the Plastic Door Panel, Inner Door Trim Panel Clip Retainer, panel retainers, Fasteners

You may be able to pull the Door Panel off by Hand but I used the Plastic Panel Tools from Harbor Freight.

It's not necessary to remove that door opening handle, just the plate.

Using a number 3 Phillips unscrew the armrest and remove. Remove the door lock knob.

Pry off the panel with a flat bar, putty knife or similar. I use a 2" plastic spatula.

-push the panel up.

I have a new front driver side regulator that I bought for a car by mistake. Pm me if you want it.
