LOUD whistling at idle

I have an 86 560SL witrh roughly 200K and at idle (usually within 1 minute of starting I get a lound whistle (vacuum leak I'm pretty sure).
I removed all drive belts thinking it was a pulley at first but then realized when I shut the car off the noise sounds just like a vacuum leak...just much louder.
It's extremely hard to isolate the whistle as it appears to be all over the front of the engine area.
I'm wondering if it could possibly be the air pump or maybe the purge valves? catalytic converter maybe plugging up and creating a back pressure.

Any help would be great.

Pulled all belts but the water pump/power steering, noise still present. I'm going to grab a huge fan to push some air then remove the last two belts and see if it's possibly the inner bearing of the water pump.
I grabbed a heater hose about 2 feet long and the only place I can really still hear that high pitched squeal is at the back side of the water pump. Penetrating oil at the front bearing/seal area did nothing...

An easy belt noise diag is to just spray some WD40 or silicone on the offending belt ( inner part of course ). It will make the noise go away for a little while. If you have the nozzle on the can you can spray while running just beware of which way the fan is turning for reasons of getting can or hand hit and the overspray will get you.

I'd already lubed the belts before trying to oil the bearing at the front of the pump.

What I didn't try until today was loosening the power steering pump enough to stop the water pump from spinning.
I was loosening the P/S with the engine running and I couldhear the pitch change.

I made sure when the squeal would arise (usually after a minute or two of run time), I then shut off the engine and quickly restarted the engine, squeal was still present SO
I repeated the scenario BUT when I shut the engine off I cut the belt and fired it up right away, noise was gone!!

With that I knew it was P/s or waterpump so spun them both immediately. The P/S pump rotated to slow but when I spin the waterpump I could hear my squeal at a much lower volume.

Changed the waterpump and all is quiet.
Thanks for the input guys!!
