i have an older benz: 1996 C220
my check engine light has come on quite a lot. not always on, but most of the time.
it was hard to find someone who had an older diagnostic reader, but what he told me was
"engine code 90". he mentioned some possibilities between two issues, one, Camshaft timing solenoid, and magnetic position sensor.
since I'm not a mechanic, this was all greek to me. the car seems to be running pretty well, so it's not a major issue, whatever it is.
I wish i had more to go on, but that's all he told me. i tried looking up this code on lists posted here (List of Fault Codes....(DTC)) , and on this site (https://www.mercedescodereader.com/uploads/2/6/0/4/26049090/mercedes_obd1_fault_codes.pdf), but I couldn't find anything that looked like a "code 90".
any ideas? should i ask the mechanic what kind of reader he was using?
