EGR delete for SL600

Hi Guys

Im currently helping a forum member solve an issue with his knock sensors. We took it to a shop and they took the manifold off to see what the problem was and it turns out that a mouse had made the M120 his home. There was saw dust, chicken bones and it seems he chewed off 3 out 4 knock sensor wires clean and the insulation on one of the rpm sensors. The mechanic also noted that the boot on the passenger side EGR valve was ripped off.

I wanted to ask, any negative affects such as check engine light if we remove all the EGR related stuff and simply put a block off plate?

Will not pulling off the connections,is there just a vacuum pipe you could pull off.

Cap the hole(s) at the exhaust manifold of the feeder pipe to the EGR. Leave the switch over valve connected on the intake manifold connected, and cap the exit control vacuum, so you do not get a check engine light...

Still will get CEL. System uses intake manifold pressure sensor to check actual EGR operation. That is in addition to electrical check of the switchover valve.

Just fix the problem.

Its just vacuum lines and wires.

remove chicken bones before starting the engine. :smile
