When it's time to fill up, I've always had trouble getting to the gas cap. I'd try and get my finger nails under the little door and try to lift it up. Recently, I discovered something. All you have to do is push on the other side and it opens up. Am I an idiot, or is anyone else having this problem? :surrender:

Haha not as bad as that but when I was in a bad part of NYC I was going to fill up and locked my doors in case if anyone tried to hijack my car while I was inside paying. When I came out to fill up I couldn't get the gas door open! It wasn't until I UNLOCKED the doors that the gas tank opened and I was able to fill up. That's when I learned the gas tank locks with the doors!

Similar story, but a dental surgeon I'm working with told me once she had a problem with opening the lid. She took it later to a mechanic who was about to pry it open until someone said to check to see if the power locks were not activated;)

not a MB (but another German brand), but my wife once spent an hour at a petrol station with the petrol station attendant trying to work out how to open her tank door before they gave up and rang me, a push on one side unlatched it, but neither thought to look at the manual sitting in the glove-box...

As I alwas fill my own cae, holding the cap so I didn't loose it was a drag. Until I figured out that the wire gismo on the door is where the cap fits best!
