Dear all,

I am a proud owner of a W212 in steel grey. It's a beauty. given it is beefed up with all these electronic equipments, may I know approximately when do I need to replace a battery?

Thanks in advance!

Under most conditions your battery will last many, many years anyway, but if you want to be really sure it does buy a decent battery charger/maintainer. If you drive regularly, hook it up overnight every other month or so to bring your battery to a really full charge. If you let the car sit for longer, you can leave it connected permanently, which will keep it fully charged.

Bosch, CTEK, NOCO are reputable brands that sell compact and capable smart chargers from $30 upwards. There are other, more basic maintenance chargers that are even cheaper than that. Given your battery is almost brand new you won't need a charger with special recovery modes and the like, just make sure you get one that has an electronically monitored trickle/float charge mode to prevent overcharging once the battery is full.

WOW, that's incredible mers320 :D
May be keyless go option could slightly deplete battery life shorter than non keyless go cars .It's,however, 5 years is nice too

Thanks guy for your valuable input.

These are constructive advice. I just took delivery of my car and I was astonished with all the electronic features it has. My previous vehicle was a 2002 Volvo S40 so it was not technological advanced like the 2013 W212. So I am wondering will these goodies like ECO, day time running lights....will consume the battery quicker or not.

Thanks for your comments. Very much appreciated.

ECO should not hurt the battery because there is a 2nd battery in the trunk and it ensures that such comfy gadgets won't use your main battery when waiting at lights, parking lot etc .I have noticed that when ECO stops the car , A/C fan's speed is also reduced by the system and when the car restarts it resumes back to its original fan speed

all the jokes a side, I'm very serious, i had it sins 2003, still running with original battery,

My 1987 260e is still on its second battery! My 2005 C230K SS bought in 2004 still has the original. All MB batteries, no special care.
