Does anyone have W221 wheels on their car? I'm looking at putting on a set of stock S550 18 wheels/tires and I wonder how they look/feel? Is the offset right to use without spacers?
A guy I know on a VW forum had a set of those for very little money. I contemplated those but didn't like the expense of the rubber. Now after seeing these pics I wish I would have, they look very nice on that white car.The attached pics are of the stock w221 S350 rims (For Gulf market cars anyway) on a w140 S500. Not my car, but one that is for sale in Dubai that I looked it.
I think they suit car quite well. I might consider getting a set when my tires need replacing.
These look pretty good indeed!Found a W140 with the other W221 wheel:

I have to respectfully disagree with you (as bayhas has already did) on this quote.I don't want to come in here and step on anyone's toes. But just because I'm new to the forum here doesn't mean I haven't been building cars for 20 years or more. And I seriously doubt an MB emblem on the hood makes the rules of physics any different.
um, lol, no.I have to respectfully disagree with you (as bayhas has already did) on this quote.
M.B.s up to the early 90s did override and broke almost every logical physic law known.
Well, excuse me, but can YOU NAME one mass produced car brand up to the middleof the 90's that was as advanced, innovative and just plain technologically unique other than Mercedes-Benz?um, lol, no.

NO?
Obviously my original comment was a bit extreme, but let my just paint the panorama for you:
Germans: B.M.W. was desperately trying to catch M.B. They did not succeed in many ways. Audi and the rest were just a marketing joke.
The italians? Nothing from Fiat to Ferrari could be called at least slightly reliable.
The French? Good designs, as always, pure junk technologically speaking.
The British? Hahahahahaha!
The Americans? Taking aside two or three models, everything else was worthless.
The Japanese? Still trying at the time what to be, and how to get there...
The Koreans? In diapers.
Again, and please pay close attention to the time frame: "up to the middle of the 90's" Any suggestions, anyone???
lol, you are an angry little man aren't you. Like I'm concerned with what you think of me.Don't waste your time entertaining him.
His idea of a collective thought(s) is when he talks to himself in a mirror.
Every rusting 220 I work on I think of him, all the ones with a trunk leak because the fiberglass spare tyre well is cracked, I laugh, the ones I sweat in because the windows, AC and seats don't work. He won't change. He's a loser, a garnished tool bag.
Anyway, here's my Mercedes Benz, on the W221 chassis stock 18s.
I'm sorry, but was that the question? Nope, sure wasn't.Well, excuse me, but can YOU NAME one mass produced car brand up to the middleof the 90's that was as advanced, innovative and just plain technologically unique other than Mercedes-Benz?
NO?
Hahaha, I'm very happy that 220s make me money. No anger in it at all. Just more conclusive evidence of what is known of the W220 bodies that you deny.lol, you are an angry little man aren't you. Like I'm concerned with what you think of me.
Guess those POS 220s are keeping you in business. You should really be happy about it, shouldn't you.
Let's call them fat fives. Here are the new Rims , i dont know wich S Class they belong to or even if they are OF an S Class at all , all they said was when i board them that they where FOR S Class MB .They feel ok with all 255/18's all round .
I opted out of the 20 inch Rims like i mentioned in a previous Post .
Ciao
It wasn't a question, also it did not mention the W140 at all.I'm sorry, but was that the question? Nope, sure wasn't.
You stated that the 140 defied the laws of physics. It doesn't. In fact, no car does.
Thats all there is to it.
Thanks Andrew .Let's call them fat fives.
I have seen those wheels before. Maybe not so much around here but short wheel base cars abroad have them.
They look great!
I see what you mean.Thanks Andrew .
The Rims you got now look awesome to and i think that they suit the Car more than what i have under now , mine look to Sporty i think & dont really suit it .
