Hello All,

This might seem like a "no brainer" question, so please don't laugh too hard. How can I remove the stock radio head unit from my 1991 300SL without taking apart the whole console? Below is a pic for reference. Thanks in advance for the help in this matter. :)

Just look under the on/ off button on the left side of the unit and the up / down button on the right side.

You will see two small slots that you insert a a simple radio removal "key" tool to slide into those slots and it pushes tabs down on the unit that then easily releases the unit to slide out.

Good luck...David

Bearone2,

thanks for the offer but it's the story of my life I just read your reply a little too late. I just bought a key and it worked like a charm, but I really do appreciate the offer that was very kind of you. BTW I'm out in Buckeye

I had no idea that removing the climate control was so easy, based on everything else that I have encountered so far I thought I would need an Engineering Degree for that too LOL. Thanks for all of the great advice.
