Ok, before this mysterious incident occurred, I replaced my evap charcoal canister (two days ago). I was told by my mechanic that THAT was the reason why I had the check engine light on with the code P0455 (EVAP). He's been working on my SLK for a month now and we've narrowed it down to the canister (all else is fine to our knowledge).
After replacing the canister with a new one, we reset the code and he told me to drive around for a few days (for cold start cycles, etc).
Three days later, while driving to work this morning, my gas light flashes for a few seconds and then disappears in the middle of my driving. It lasted for about 2 seconds. Usually, it flashes and then my check engine light would turn on and stay on. The odd thing is it turned off by itself.
Does anyone know if this is normal? Has anyone experienced this? Flashing gas light blinks and turns off by itself in the middle of driving?
