You might be able to get that taken care at some local upholstery shop pretty cheap, when I bought my ML about two months ago I noticed that mine were peeling too and I was able to get them replaced for free with the new ones through dealership. :)

Been there, done that....................................................
Easy fix with glue sticks found at Walmart. No need to remove the pillar. Just pull fabric back far enough to rub the glue on it and stick it back on the pillar. The glue is colored when wet but dries clear. My 2 cents.

Hi I had the same problem. I'm just curious why they can't shell out a few more dollars on these cars and make that pillar out of the "vinyl/leather" like the dashboard...

Anyways, I fixed mine easily and it lasted for a great while now. I used a double-sided tape (the tough one) and just cut a long thin strip and stick it along the windshield underneath the cloth...it sticks sooo well you don't even see like wrinkles. :)

i havent tried glue stick but i initially used superglue...does not work...

Ive got the response for you....
EASY FIX...Just stick a screw driver unter the pillar from the door side and pry off...Pull twoards center of ML and up at the same time....Now peel off the ugly material...Dont worry about stripping the felt padding....Thats way too time consuming. Just go to local fabric store...Get some suede that matches your dash, cut it out to fit pillar. get any type of good fab spray adhesive....Now spray on a good amount of adhesive...Dont read the directions...You must wait about 10 min for the glue to dry and be tacky or it will soak thru. Hold the fabric tight and let it touch the bend of the pillar. and work it down with your hands and smoothe out. Then cut off excess after it dries with exactio knife....I did this to my ML and it looks awesome..And was simple to do...The way back ones are easy as well. but the mniddle ones need to be stitched as the suede will not stretsh...but and good tailor can make the material fit, and then apply the same way....Really made my truch awesom on the inside....
Hope this helps

looks pretty good!...And definitely way better than the weak white fabric that came with our ML's...the cool thing is each time you do this you get better and if you mess up...just do it again...!...
Was your fabric folded when you bought it? kinda looks like a crease on one of them, If the fabric is folded, just iron real well before applying....
Wait till you put them in back in the truck....It will look great!!...

Yeah, the fabric was folded...but I dont mind the crease - I plan on redoing it. I wanted to get the feel for it in my own truck for once. I have dont this before but always on a customer car, never my own toys. I installed them last night and drove down 270 to work this morning basically staring at them the entire drive...they look hot. I have to say...blue suede wasn't my first choice...but looks good in the truck given the other colors I have to play with. I think the next item is pulling my middle console and changing the leather portions to suede on the side...leaving the bottom and top door ash leather (vinyl).

Sorry about the crappy pics...they were taken with a Sony a200 - which just goes to show how bad at photography I actually am!

Funny thing is...I intend to put the 285 75R16's back on and make a roof rack (for a full spare) and reattach my custom bumper with winch...suede isn't something you would expect to see in an off-roading type vehicle.
