I have a 2008 SL550 that needs hydraulic roof service but can't find anyone in the Washington D.C area that can work on it other than the dealer. It stop working and has a leak in trunk on driver side. Any suggestions?

Try the correct forum. This one is for the 1989 and older 107 series.

Have a look through here. Maybe contact an indepentant MB mechanic close by that could refer you to a specialist that knows how to work on your roof

Not my area, but there is a decent Mercedes population there and have to be several independent specialists. Some convertible top repair shops can also do it. The leak you described is likely the frame lift cylinder or the left frame lock cylinder, both are easy repairs.

Try German Auto Works in Rockville, MD 301-424-7463. They fixed a vario top issue on my 2011 SL 550. Very honest and reasonably priced. Ask for Dennis. He is the owner.
