The next revision on the E I understand from club sources is the 2016 MY on sale in North America this fall along with a crossover E Class being introduced.
I too do not find myself a fan of the new design. To me the front end look like a proboscis on an Elephant Seal. It's heavy and lacks refinement.
I guess I am too much a traditionalist but BMW does not stray that far from its tradional grill in the way MB has, and a Mercedes sedan without a hood star or the option to have one just isn't right. My 2001 CLK320 felt naked without it.

The picture does have a star on the hood so must be a luxury model.

A funny thing about the Star on the hood; I repainted my 210 this fall/winter and because the chrome was so blasted from HW sand I chose to paint rather than replace or re-chrome! But the now Black star- not sure if I can leave it that way?

Thanks very much for these pics. In three months it will have been a year since I pulled the trigger on ordering an E250 built to my specifications. You wouldn't believe the amount of time I'd spent online and on dealers' lots prior to that day comparing, comparing: which do I like more, Sport (Avantgarde) or Luxury (Elegance)? I really liked that star in the grille, but I knew from my previous MB I kinda liked seeing the ornament on the hood when I was driving -- reminded me a bit of an aiming device, maybe, I don't know, but I liked it. So I was on the fence until one day I compared, really compared, the rear of the luxury and sport models, and I realized the chrome exhaust ports just looked tacky to me. Tasteless. (Hope I'm not offending anybody here -- these are just personal preferences, and everybody is entitled to such.) It was like MB was trying to turn a classic car into an aggressive sports model, a beast, a '60s muscle car. And all I wanted was a stately, classic sedan that would be enjoyable to drive while keeping me safe and comfortable on trips long and short. So even though I really, truly liked that star in the grille, I went with the grille that looked more like the classic MB grilles of old, and now that I've been driving the car for awhile I must say I'm very happy with what I have.

And now you've shown me the answer to another of my concerns last year -- Should I wait for the 2015 model? Might I like it better? Well, after looking at your pics I have to say I do like the side view better -- that's a very sexy sweep to the lines. But the front and even the rear seem to have moved further in the direction that holds little appeal to me. That front, even with the Luxury grille, seems far too aggressive, like it's an animal with open jaws, about to pounce. The three air intake openings below the grille appear to take up more total real estate than the grille itself! A mouth with nostrils on either side that make the car look -- dare I say it? -- ugly, or at least off-putting. Sure, if you're going to put a monster eight-cylinder engine in the thing and take it out on the track, this look would be very appropriate. But I put a four-cylinder DIESEL in mine, an efficient little fuel-sipper with just enough pep to keep me happy. If my car looked like it belonged at Daytona, I'd feel like a fraud behind the wheel. So...looks like I picked the right model for me. No buyer's remorse. Whew! And thanks again for the pics.

Bonus pic! This isn't exactly the picture I was looking for to illustrate what I think the new front end looks like, but it's close enough.
